Daddy's little girl is getting so big! It seems like just yesterday that Jessica Simpson and fiance Eric Johnson welcomed daughter Maxwell Drew into the world, but on Wednesday, May 1, the sweet tot turned 12 months old.
Having already celebrated with a party over the weekend, Maxwell enjoyed a more low-key outing with her doting dad on Wednesday afternoon. She looked adorable, as usual, in a pink dress under a red sweater with a pink and red collar. A tiny bow in her blonde curls completed the look.
Three days earlier, Maxwell's mom — who is pregnant with her second child, a baby boy — threw a lavish carnival-themed bash for her little girl. Simpson and Johnson spared no expense for the party, which was held at the couple's home in Hidden Hills, Calif.
The intimate affair featured food stations serving carnival snacks like lemonade, popcorn, hot dogs, french fries, snow cones, cotton candy, cupcakes, cookies, and more. There were also stations for painting and balloon-making. "Kids were swimming in the pool with a lifeguard watching, and many of them were swinging on swings and playing on a teeter totter," a source told Us Weekly of the soiree.
For the adults — among whom were Simpson's sister, Ashlee, and pregnant BFF, CaCee Cobb — "they had '70s and '80s music playing on the speakers," the source added. "Everybody was having a great time being outside."
