Baby practice for Kate Middleton! On Thursday, April 4, the pregnant Duchess and Prince William arrived in Glasgow, Scotland via commercial flight for several official royal engagements. The expectant royals, known as the Earl and Countess of Strahearn in Scotland, were greeted inside the Emirates Arena (site of the Commonwealth Games 2014) with Kate, 31, wearing a short tartan Moloh brand “Workers” coat that managed to conceal the five-months-pregnant Duchess’ growing curves, plus black tights and knee-high boots.
To reach the center of the stadium, Kate and a suit-clad William, 30, had to negotiate a very steep flight of stairs; an observer notes that the Duchess took the descent very, very slow to avoid losing her balance. After meeting with officials, they sat down to watch a dance display, including one hilarious bit starring mascot “Clyde the Thistle.” The duo then met with young future athletes who treated them to athletic demonstrations plus a tour of the facility.
Cutest moment of the visit? On the way out, the mom-to-be met an eight-month-old baby named Heidi — who “presented” Middleton with a flower posy after taking a bite out of the bouquet, “Kate burst into laughter!” an observer says.
Behind close doors, Middleton, who is due in July, has “sugar on the brain,” a source told Us Weekly. “Chocolate, biscuits, cake.”
