The Spice Girls don't hold grudges! In a candid interview with the Daily Mail, "Sporty Spice" Melanie Chisholm opens up about her thoughts on Victoria Beckham's superstar family and her skipping out on a Spice Girls reunion.
After the whole group — Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), Melanie Brown (Scary Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Beckham (Posh Spice) and Chisholm — reunited at the London Olympics in August 2012, the ladies got back together in December 2012 to attend the London premiere of the Spice Girls musical Viva Forever. But this time, Beckham didn't join them.
"We were disappointed that Victoria didn't arrive with us on the red carpet at the premiere, I'm not going to lie," Chisholm, 39, confessed to the Daily Mail. "For her that evening was about her family, and that's what she wanted to do."
"But we're all grown-ups and we've been through so much," she added. "If somebody wants to do something a certain way, then we are not going to kick up a fuss about it. The rules of the Spice Girls are that we do really respect each other, and that's all part of it. That's what she wanted to do, so that's what she did.'"
Beckham, 38, is now a fashion designer and mother of four kids — sons Brooklyn, 14, Romeo, 10, Cruz, 8, and daughter Harper, 21 months, with husband David Beckham.
"Brand Beckham is huge and they've worked so hard at building that huge empire," Chisholm said. "I really feel for Victoria actually, because you can see whenever we meet up, she walks into a room and all eyes are on her. That's a huge pressure."
Chisholm, single mom to daughter Scarlet, 4, also joked that her eyes are getting tired of seeing David Beckham in his underwear ads. "When you see David in his pants quite a lot, you think, 'That's my friend's husband, and I really don't want to see him in his pants,'" she quipped.
