Sarah Jessica Parker is designing a shoe line, to launch next year!

Sarah Jessica Parker is finally designing her own line…of…you guessed it: shoes.

We’re pretty sure that if Sex and the City had debuted in 2013, it would have only been a season or two before the actress had her own shoe line, given Carrie Bradshaw‘s famous penchant for expensive and beautiful footwear and the proliferation of celebrity (and TV-themed) clothing lines these days. Instead, she’s launching one now, and the announcement comes via Vogue, 15 years to the day after SATC premiered on HBO.

The actress and former Halston chief creative officer (remember that?) is launching SJP, a line of shoes, bags and “a few trenches.” She’s doing it with a little help from George Malkemus, the CEO of the brand her character made a household name: Manolo Blahnik.

Unsurprisingly, it sounds like Parker has done her research. According to Vogue, she’s looking to old-school labels like Charles Jourdan and Maud Frizon as sources of inspiration. The shoes will be in the $200-$300 range and are set to launch exclusively at Nordstrom early next year.

Our prediction: it will be good. In addition to seeming like a perfectionist, Parker has been around fashion for a long time, and has relationships with plenty of designers and industry figures whom she can easily ask for advice. We’re also pretty sure Malkemus knows what he’s doing.

Plus, playing Carrie was like six seasons of research.

She told Vogue: “Because I got to play that role, I wore a lot of shoes, and by default I learned an enormous amount. It’s hard to” — no pun intended — “walk away from that.”

No pun intended? From the person who played Carrie Bradshaw? Yeah right.
