Down goes David Beckham! While showing off his soccer moves to young players in China’s Wuhan Stadium on Saturday, March 23, Beckham accidentally slipped and fell right on his butt.
The 37-year-old British star was caught by photographers falling after kicking a ball during his visit to Wuhan Zall Football Club. As the first international ambassador of the China Football Association, Beckham was all dressed up for his visit in a dress shirt, pants and tie.
After the embarrassing tumble, however, Beckham picked himself up and laughed it off. And it doesn’t look like he suffered any bruises from the spill — at least on his torso.
The next day, the athlete lifted up his shirt while visiting Peking University to show fans a Chinese tattoo (and his amazing abs) covering the length of the left side of his chest.

The father of four and husband of Victoria Beckham is currently on a five-day visit to China. “I’m excited by the prospect of promoting the world’s greatest game to Chinese sports fans as I’ve seen first hand the growing interest in football there,” Beckham said (via Daily Mail) of his role as ambassador. “This is a wonderful sport that inspires people across the world and brings families together, so I’m relishing the opportunity of introducing more fans to the game.”
“I am helping in the education for young kids and young aspiring footballers. It’s as simple as that,” he added. “I am not here to clear up anything. I am here to educate the children and give them a chance of becoming professional footballers. I’m not a politician so anything that has gone on in the past has nothing to do with me.”
