Terrence Howard is once again being accused of beating his ex-wife, Michelle Ghent. According to a TMZ report, the former couple — who finalized their divorce in May — hooked up again during a recent trip in Costa Rica. Ghent alleges the 44-year-old actor beat her during a heated argument.

"Unfortunately I've tried to help people and it's not necessarily in the same enlightened path, of trying to help themselves," the Butler actor tells Entertainment Tonight.

He adds, "I just wish the best for her, but as far as me harming somebody… I really can't harm a fly. It's completely against my spirit, but I'm so heartbroken, that you can see that doing it on a night like this is only for an attempt to try and hurt me."

According to TMZ, Ghent maced Howard, his adult daughter, and another family member during the altercation. However, a source claims that Howard is just claiming the mace incident to cover up his own abuse.

This incident is not the first for the pair. In December 2011, Ghent got a restraining order against the Red Tails star, claiming that he began to abuse her just seven days after they married. Howard quickly filed his own legal papers denying the allegations.

The exes were married in January 2010 and Ghent filed for divorce in February 2011.
