Is "slut shaming" the same as bullying? Chrissy Teigen got slammed on Twitter by her followers on Tuesday, May 14, after she called Teen Mom's Farrah Abraham a "whore."
"Farrah Abraham now thinks she is pregnant from her sex tape. In other news you're a whore and everyone hates you," the 27-year-old model tweeted. "Whoops not other news, sorry."
Quickly after the tweet went out, backlash from her followers came in. "Wow. Amazed to see the outrage behind calling a staged leaked sex tape chick from Teen Mom exactly what she is," she said. "Go on with your bad selves."
Abraham, 21, a single mother to daughter Sophia, 4, recently sold a XXX-rated "home video" she filmed with porn star James Deen for nearly $1 million to Vivid Entertainment. The porn company released the sex tape, titled Farrah Superstar: Backdoor Teen Mom, on May 6.
Teigen, who is engaged to John Legend, vehemently defended her comments about Abraham after critics accused her of "slut shaming."
"Ok, so what I have learned today is slut shaming is a thing like bullying. Do NOT bully sluts, guys," she tweeted. "We have a real problem here. People are really defending backdoor teem mom hardcore [porn] . . . Are we really gonna pretend like this girl just had an accidentally leaked sex tape? Seriously?? What the f–k is wrong with you?"
As more critics weighed in, Teigen continued to fight back. "Does calling this 'slut shaming' make you feel better? Like pulling the bully card?" she asked. "Ladies: you aren't a super feminist for okaying super whores. You don't need to defend EVERYone with a vagina."
"I believe in strong women. F–k, I love women," Teigen added. "But a spade is a spade. And we can do better."
And the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model really took issue with the phrase "slut shaming."
"We just have two completely different definitions of 'slut shaming,'" she wrote to her critics. "I think of the word 'slut' as being negative, and you do not . . . How is calling out a willing (lied-as-leaked) sex tape participant who hired paps to photo her buying preg tests this AM slut shaming?"
