Breast in Show? Beyonce kicked off her massive Mrs. Carter World Tour in Belgrade, Serbia on Monday, April 15, which featured plenty of costume changes — including one gold bodysuit sure to be remembered. The “Grown Woman” singer, 32, emphasized her world-famous figure in perhaps her raunchiest look yet: Although long-sleeved and with a modest bust-line, the bedazzled, fringe-lined piece featured a pair of faux breasts, complete with anatomically accurate nipples.
Other looks for the night included a white embellished crystal and pearl bodysuit with peplum skirt and fringed epaulettes (custom-designed by Tamara Ralph of Ralph & Russo) and a mesh-paneled black and gold bodysuit. Beyonce also donned four distinctive costumes (including a fringed, green animal-print dress and a skimpy black leather bodysuit with plunging neckline) made just for her by Emilio Pucci’s Creative Director Peter Dundas, plus designs by Julien McDonald and Dsquared2.
All of the superstar’s footwear for the tour was created by Stuart Weitzman, including stiletto pumps with Swarovski crystal details and lace up, military-influenced boots.
Despite the eye-popping fashion, one thing was missing from Beyonce’s big show: New material. Although Blue Ivy’s mom recently debuted snippets of several new songs (“Bow Down” and “I Been On” were teased via her blog, while “Grown Woman” plays in her catchy new Pepsi commercial), Beyonce stuck to older, classic material from her first four albums. (The show opened with a brief interlude of “I Been On.) With nearly 50 dates in Europe and North America, The Mrs. Carter World Tour wraps up in Brooklyn, NY on August 3.
