Justin Bieber has at least one important group in his corner regarding his controversial comment about Holocaust victim Anne Frank.

On Saturday, it was revealed that after Bieber took a private tour of the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, he wrote in the historic guestbook: “Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a believer."

The comment struck many as insensitive; however, a spokesperson for the Anne Frank House says they are "overwhelmed" by the negative response.

"He's a 19-year-old boy taking the effort to come and see the museum," the rep told Reuters. "And we'd like to point that out, and I think it's quite innocent what he put down."

"The Anne Frank House was pleased to welcome Justin Bieber to the Anne Frank House last Friday," continued the spokesperson. "We think it is very positive that he took the time and effort to visit our museum. He was very interested in the story of Anne Frank and stayed for over an hour. We hope that his visit will inspire his fans to learn more about her life and hopefully read the diary."

Bieber has remained quiet on social media about this latest controversy, but fear not, he has posted a new shirtless photo on Instagram.

"Breaking news @justinbieber just posted 2 shirtless pictures he must be going crazy -funny people #forthefansanyways #dontbecreepin," Bieber posted while seemingly mocking his critics.

A selfie can cure any bad day, eh Biebs?
