Selena Gomez abruptly ended a July 22 TV interview when she was asked about her ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber. During a July 26 appearance on Good Morning America, however, the 21-year-old pop star maintained her composure when asked about her former flame.
"He and I have had such a history together," Gomez said of Bieber, 19. "I'll always care about him and protect him if anyone tries to be mean."
(The exes first split in November 2012 after a two-year courtship and called it quits a second time just before New Year's Eve. Post-breakup, Gomez visited Bieber in Norway. The singers most recently spent time together on July 4.)
Gomez didn't say anything else about her ex, though she did perform three songs from her just-released album, Stars Dance: "Come & Get It," "Slow Down," and "Birthday." The singer also performed Selena Gomez & the Scene's 2011 hit, "Love You Like a Love Song."
"I don't feel like I'm settled yet," she said of balancing music and movies. "I'm just kind of focusing on my work. I feel like the moment I'm not working, I get bored and then I go crazy. I'm gonna keep going, I think."
When she does get some time off, Gomez said she can typically be found "dancing," "sleeping" or "at home watching movies."
