Khloe Kardashian: “I Wish People Would Quit Asking” About My Fertility Issues

Khloe Kardashian talks about her fertility struggles and Kim Kardashian's boyfriend Kanye West in the June issue of REDBOOK

Khloe Kardashian is an open book. After more than five years on shows including Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Khloe & Lamar, and Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami, the 28-year-old reality star has few secrets left unshared. She's been incredibly candid about most aspects of her life — including, notably, her struggle to get pregnant with husband Lamar Odom. But as she reveals in the June issue of Redbook, that candidness can be a double-edged sword.

"I do think [sharing] my difficulty getting pregnant has helped a lot of women," the married TV personality tells the magazine. That said, she doesn't want her fertility issues — which she describes as her "hormones being off" — to define her as a person.

"Do I wish people would quite asking me about it 24/7?" she asks. "Yes, but I don't regret [talking about] it. I was 26 when that started, and I admit, I didn't know a lot about my body. It was hard for me to understand what was happening because my mom had six kids and Kourtney got pregnant quickly."

Kardashian, married to basketball player Odom since 2009, has since become very well-versed in the science of fertility, but she's not rushing to conceive a child right this very moment. "People assume I'm desperate for a baby," she tells Redbook. "And yes, I would love to have a baby. But I'm 28, and I've been married three and a half years. I love my life, but it doesn't feel incomplete right now."

She also scoffs at rumors that she resents her older sister Kim for getting pregnant. (The 32-year-old reality star is expecting her first child with boyfriend Kanye West in July.)

"Please. People want to assume that I'm devastated. I couldn't be happier," she says of how she feels about becoming an aunt for the third time. (She's already aunt to Kourtney's son Mason, 3, and daughter Penelope, 9 months.) "I actually got mad at Kourtney, because she was afraid to tell me at first. So I get why people think I'm hurt, because my own sister thought I would be."

She insists, though, that she's thrilled for Kim — not just because of the baby but also because of West. "I love Kanye," Kardashian gushes of her sister's beau, adding that her family has known him since 2004. "He always had a crush on Kim, but she was never into him at the time. I'd always told Kim they were like two peas in a pod, and she would never listen. Then one day, she says, 'I think I like Kanye.' I was like, 'Since when?'"
