Mila Kunis has always been a private person, but she's become more introverted since she began dating Ashton Kutcher in the spring of 2012. The Oz the Great and Powerful actress explains why she dodges questions about their relationship in the April issue of Marie Claire UK.
"I censor myself," the 29-year-old admits. "Lately, more. More."
Kunis doesn't deny their courtship, however. "I've always said that it is much easier to be honest than to be caught up in a bunch of lies," she says. "At least this way, you know who you are."
The actress, who ended her eight-year relationship with Macaulay Culkin in 2010, also tells the magazine she's ready for a career change. "I don't think I can do this three-movies-a-year thing. It's too much," she says. "There comes a point in your life where you want to be . . . home."
Kunis continues, "I want to explore other parts of this industry to see what aspects of it I can get myself into, so that I can work out of home maybe. Like producing. Then I can have, like, a life, in one location."
"Living to work isn't healthy," Kunis says. "Now I'm learning to work and live, and want to have fun with it."
After being recognized for her work in 2010's Black Swan at the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Golden Globe Awards, the former That '70s Show star no longer feels the need to silence her critics. "I went on a mission to prove everybody wrong," she says of her post-TV career. "I needed to show I was capable of more."
