Prince William Saves the Day for Two Hikers

Prince William

That Prince William really is a prince among men … and he would be even if he weren’t a royal.

The soon-to-be father rescued a couple from a Welsh mountaintop earlier this week.

According to the Belfast Telegraph, Wills, 30, a pilot with the United Kingdom’s RAF Search and Rescue Force, was called in after mountain rescue team members and trained dogs found the two people in their 40s and 50s stranded in Snowdonia in North Wales. (Yes, apparently Snowdonia is a real place, not a fictional locale from some supernatural young adult novel). Thankfully, his expertise allowed him to swoop in and save them from the dangerous terrain and frigid temperatures.

“The helicopter came about 1 a.m. to search the mountain which was quite difficult with patches of low cloud,” a source told British newspaper The Mirror. “Flying the mountains at night with banks of low cloud requires great skill.”

This isn’t William’s first time making a rescue either. Since he passed his captaincy tests last May, he’s made four impressive rescue missions.

In other words, Prince William has mad skillz, something the hero of a young adult novel taking place in somewhere called Snowdonia would totally have.

And speaking of swoon-worthy heroism, the Duke of Cambridge’s younger brother, Prince Harry, spent his day Wednesday visiting schoolchildren in the poverty-striken African country of Lesotho.

As Harry had hoped, we’re sure their late mother would be proud of her two princes.
