Keeping up with Dr. Lahiri! Kris Jenner will be making a cameo in an upcoming episode of FOX's comedy The Mindy Project, the network confirmed to Us Weekly on Monday, Feb. 9.
The show's star and creator, Mindy Kaling, revealed the news herself in an Instagram photo. "Mindy Lahiri & Kris Jenner: Best friends?" the Office alum, 35, quipped. "@krisjenner #comingsoon #themindyproject."
Kaling — in yet another colorful Mindy Lahiri getup — posed with the Kardashian-Jenner matriarch, 59, on set in the pic. The women appeared to be filming a book signing scene.
"She's playing herself," a source tells Us of Jenner's new gig. "She shows up to the grand opening of Mindy's fertility clinic and gives Mindy advice about womanhood." (Spoiler alert! It was revealed in last week's episode that Dr. Lahiri is pregnant with Danny Castellano's baby. What will Ma and Dot say!?)
The Mindy Project often has guest stars. In fact, Jenner's former son-in-law Kris Humphries made an appearance in September 2013. The NBA player was a member of the "Getting Over It" gang with Danny (Chris Messina) and Tom (Bill Hader) in "The Other Dr. L" episode. Newly single, Humphries' character made a slight dig to his short-lived marriage with Kim Kardashian.
"You don't want to be like me, sitting at home, alone, Saturday nights, watching trashy reality TV shows," he said on the episode. "I'm not going to name which ones, trust me. You’re better off over there."
