CSI is not cancelled, despite CBS airing an erroneous promo touting next week's "series" finale.
Rest easy, CSI fans. CBS’ beloved, highly rated crime drama is not being yanked from the airwaves, despite a network promo that aired during the Feb. 10 episode of NCIS, teasing next week’s “series” finale.
As fans of the long-running forensic procedural show expressed outrage, CBS network executive Chris Ender was quick to quell their fears via Twitter. Though Ender’s profile says he is not tweeting in an “official” capacity, the Executive Vice President of Communications for the network confirmed CSI isn’t going anywhere soon.

“Dear Twitter chatter. Eyeliner graphic promoting this weekend’s #CSI mistakenly said ‘Series Finale.’ It’s the ‘Season Finale,’” Ender wrote in his message to fans Feb. 10. “We would never cancel a show in a promo five days before broadcast, especially one that has been this important to the Network.”
Though Ender’s tweets confirmed that the show was still on the air, some fans remained skeptical. In response to Ender, one viewer suggested that the graphics editor who made the mistake be suspended a la Brian Williams, who was suspended from NBC Feb. 10 for six months without pay after exaggerating details about his time in Iraq.

Currently fronted by Ted Danson (D.B. Russell) and George Eads (Nick Stokes), the series is currently in its 15th season, and first premiered in 2000. Boasting past series stars like Marg Helgenberger, William Petersen, and Gary Dourdan, the flagship CSI series led way to spin-offs CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, and the upcoming CSI: Cyber.
