Penelope Cruz‘s directorial debut might be the sexiest “short film” ever. The Oscar-winning actress, 39, recently stepped behind the camera for the first time to create a five-minute ad for the Agent Provocateur lingerie line she designed with her sister, Monica — and the result is almost too hot to handle.
The racy video features Spanish actor Miguel Angel, who has a magical pair of sunglasses that allow him to see women without their clothes on. As he makes his way through a party at some mansion in Madrid, he encounters groups of models in nothing but bras and underwear from the Cruz sisters’ L’Agent collection. Toward the end of the clip, he comes face-to-face with former Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover girl Irina Shayk — and the rest you have to see for yourself.
“I just didn’t want to show the beautiful bodies of models,” Cruz explains in a behind-the-scenes featurette about the short film. “I wanted to tell a story that could help you connect to what the brand is about.”

Speaking about the experience with WWD recently, the actress added: “[It was] very personal and important for me, a very interesting experience. They gave me all the freedom, and I was able to tell the story I wanted to tell.”
“I used women of all shapes and sizes, as it was important for me to let women know that this brand is for everyone,” she continued. “I chose Irina, as she is such a vivacious woman, and with all the beautiful women in the campaign, I really needed someone who would keep the audience’s attention.”
The new mom — who welcomed her second child, a daughter, on July 22 — also called upon her family for help. Sister Monica, for example, who was nine months pregnant at the time the ad was filmed, makes a brief cameo in the film in a pink lace babydoll chemise from the collection.
“I got my sister a few days before she gave birth,” Cruz says. “I thought she wasn’t going to make it. But she was there, she felt fine…I had her on the set for two hours. She looked so beautiful.”
Cruz’s husband, Javier Bardem, also appears in the short, but you’ll have to watch to see what character he plays. (Hint: There’s a twist at the end of the clip!) And the sisters’ younger brother Eduardo Cruz — who famously dated Eva Longoria back in 2012 — composed the music.
L’Agent made its worldwide debut in stores on Thursday, Aug. 1. The short film promoting the collection was screened one night earlier, at the Soho Hotel.
