Who knew vampy singer Christina Aguilera and preppy actress and designer Katie Holmes would have a similar fashion sense? The two stars — who, incidentally, share the same birthday (Dec. 18) — both recently chose an Azzedine Alaia pink pleated skater dress to show off their slim legs and toned arms.

Of course, there were slight differences in color and cut. The newly svelte Voice mentor, 32, wore her Alaia frock first, on July 27 at a press event in Beverly Hills, where she turned heads in the mini-dress that displayed her ample cleavage and skinny gams. (It's estimated that she's lost 20 pounds since the last season of The Voice.) In the recent issue of Maxim, Aguilera claimed she doesn't try to be sexy. "I'm such a down-to-earth girl, I'm comfortable in just a jersey and boy's underwear," Aguilera told the mag. "Trying too hard to be sexy is the worst thing you can do. Sexiness should be effortless."
Fellow Hollywood mom Holmes, meanwhile, went for a more understated and modest version of the dress. The former Dawson's Creek actress, 34, hit the Gravity premiere on Oct. 1 in NYC wearing a similar Alaia number, but in a hot-pink color and with a higher neckline. The hemline also seemed a little longer on Holmes, who wore her hair in a simple ponytail and was spotted giving George Clooney a hug at the bash.
