Here we go again.
In what seems like the hundredth round of “Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth Split!” rumors, Us Weekly is officially calling ‘Lights out’ on their engagement, reporting the couple is “definitely over.”
What an awful way to celebrate what should be a happy anniversary … Hemsworth, 23, popped the question to Cyrus, 20, nearly one year ago, on May 31, 2012.
While the couple seems to be off-again, on-again daily, there’s been writing on the wall for several months now this rocky relationship could be doomed.
Let’s take a look back at how “The Last Song” lovebirds – who have been together for nearly four years – got here:
January 2013: Miley jets off to Costa Rica with the Hemsworth family to celebrate Liam’s birthday (January 13), and all appears well in “Miam” land. The couple engages in some PDA on the beach and is snapped landing back in L.A. looking happier than ever. This is the last time Cyrus and Hemsworth were photographed together.
February 2013: Both Cyrus and Hemsworth hit up the awards season party circuit solo. The “Can’t Be Tamed” singer steps out by herself for Clive Davis’s pre-Grammy Party on February 9. But gossip that there was trouble in paradise escalates after Hemsworth is spotted out with “Mad Men” actress January Jones at a pre-Oscars bash on February 23. Star magazine runs a report claiming the two made out at a private after-party. The following night Cyrus attends Elton John’s Oscars bash with her mom as her date, rather than Hemsworth.
March 2013: Hemsworth jets off to Sydney, Australia, to spend time with his family. While his March 1 trip was always planned, the “Catching Fire” actor does not book a return flight home. Rumors run rampant the wedding was off. Although Cyrus refutes this on Twitter, she’s photographed repeatedly sans her 3.5-karat engagement ring. After spending 3 weeks apart, Hemsworth lands back in L.A. and is photographed outside of Cyrus’s house.

April 2013: The seemingly back together couple continues to fly under the radar. Hemsworth is rarely pictured anywhere other than the gym, while Cyrus makes the occasional promotional rounds to promote her upcoming album. The duo continue to live together at Cyrus’s home in Toluca Lake, California and many assume no news is good news and that wedding planning is back on … until it’s not. People magazine reports on April 22 the wedding has once again been postponed after Cyrus posts a photo on Twitter without her engagement ring. Meanwhile, reports surface that Hemsworth’s family is growing increasingly unsupportive of the pending nuptials.
May 1, 2013: Cyrus admits in V magazine she has put her music “before everything,” including personal relationships. However, the 20-year-old maintains she and Hemsworth are together.

“Every week it’s, ‘Are they broken up? Because we don’t see a photo of them,’ ” Cyrus tells the mag. “I don’t have time to go to Starbucks with my boyfriend every morning. I wish I did, but I don’t.”
May 6, 2013: Cyrus attends the Met Gala in NYC stag.
May 13, 2013: Cyrus – who came in number 1 on Maxim’s 2013 Hot 100 list – attends the magazine’s annual bash solo. While there is no Hemsworth in sight, she does have her engagement ring on for all to see.
May 18, 2013: Hemsworth attends the Cannes Film Festival event for “Catching Fire” and is spotted clubbing with pals on the French Riviera, although the actor does not indulge any of the ogling girls. However, Hemsworth does spend his downtime during the overseas trip hanging with co-star Jennifer Lawrence.
May 19, 2013: While her beau is in France, Cyrus hits up the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas. For those keeping score at home … the ring is still on.
May 29, 2013: Us Weekly reports Cyrus and Hemsworth are “definitely over.” The 20-year-old has since stayed quiet about the latest round of split rumors on Twitter, simply tweeting she is “back to the grind” working on her album. Cyrus’s single “We Can’t Stop” is set for a June 3 release … but will she address the latest breakup rumors during any upcoming press rounds? That remains to be seen.
