Amanda Seyfried on Lovelace Sex Scenes: “I Don’t Want My Dad to See My Naked Body”

Amanda Seyfried didn't just shed her clothes to play a porn star in the upcoming biopic Lovelace — she also shed her inhibitions. As Deep Throat's Linda Lovelace, Seyfried had to get intimate with multiple male costars, including Peter Sarsgaard and Adam Brody. Filming the sex scenes wasn't a problem, but now that the movie is done, she's worried about who's going to be watching them. She's especially nervous for her father, Jack, to see the flick.

"I don't want my dad to see my naked body ever," she quipped during a press conference about the movie on Tuesday, July 30. "I'm going to sit through [the screening] tonight and cover his eyes. It's really only the nudity. I don't have problems with him seeing me in violent situations. In sexual situations, it's a little tough, but it's more just the nudity. I think anybody can relate to that."

The actress' costars certainly can, but both Sarsgaard and Brody said Seyfried put them at ease. "I had total trust and faith in Amanda," Sarsgaard told reporters of filming their sex scenes. "I remember first meeting her and, you know, a lot of people talk about her being brave and everything, but I also saw that she was really going to put herself in the role in a complete way, and I thought, 'Alright, I'll meet you there.'"

"I mean, you choreograph scenes like that more than you choreograph other scenes," he explained. "You don't usually just say, 'One, two, three, go!' You figure out what happens. Who's on top? Who's on bottom?"

Brody echoed Sarsgaard's sentiments when Us Weekly caught up with him at New York's Refinery Rooftop, where the cast gathered for an after-party following a Cinema Society and MCM screening of the film. "Everything you do is awkward for 20 minutes, and then you're doing it for 12 hours," he told Us. "I mean, the sex isn't that graphic, and also the tone is somewhat light and it's sort of a comedic scene."

It helped, too, that Seyfried was such a pro about the whole thing. "She's great," Brody said. "She's the easiest person to work with, and she's incredibly talented."
