Desiree Hartsock is taking her quest for love to new heights. In a preview clip from the seventh episode of The Bachelorette — airing Monday, July 8 — the bridal stylist embarks on a special one-on-one date with Brooks in picturesque Madeira, an archipelago off the coast of Portugal.
The couple, who have been lovey-dovey since day one of this season, quite literally have their heads in the clouds, as they enjoy a romantic picnic on a mountaintop. “Welcome to Cloud Nine,” Des quips, while fog rolls in around them.
The setting is perfect — and in Des’ mind, so is Brooks. “We didn’t just break through the clouds. I feel that Brooks and I really had a breakthrough in our relationship,” she gushes in a voiceover as she and Brooks share a kiss. “The way I feel right now, I am so hopeful for everything. You know, the good, the bad, the ups, the downs — this is the moment that I’ve been waiting for…This is the fairy-tale I signed up for.”
And not a moment too soon. Des’ journey as the Bachelorette has been a rocky one so far. Last week, she found out from Drew and Kasey that James had plans to build himself up on the show so he could become the next Bachelor and meet other women. And earlier this season, she was blindsided when it was revealed that Brian had a girlfriend back home. She also had a setback when Bryden, an early favorite, decided suddenly that he just wasn’t that into her and took himself out of the competition.
