Pierce Brosnan and Cesar Millan give back to help raise awareness to decrease the number of dogs and cats in shelters

Hollywood stars giving back! Actor Pierce Brosnan and dog behaviorist Cesar Millan have taken part to help decrease the number of dogs and cats that end up in shelters every year.

Brosnan and Millan joined forces with the California Spay and Neuter License Plate Fund Inc. and the Veterinary Medical Board for Pet Lover’s License Plate, to help raise awareness on the importance of spaying and neutering pets. For his part, animal lover Brosnan created original artwork for license plates that could be bought by those who want to help the cause. TV Star Millan, meanwhile, personally ordered some of the available plates for his pack and for his Dog Psychology Center staff.

“The most humane way not to kill a dog is to spay and neuter. When we kill four to five million dogs nationally per year, what that says about our behavior is that we have become a disposable society,” Millan said in a release about the project. “To me, a spay and neuter campaign is just as important as the Buckle Up campaign; it saves lives.”
