It's over. Katie Couric's daytime talk show Katie has been canceled after two seasons, ABC and Couric jointly announced Thursday, Dec. 19. The news comes just weeks after it was revealed the 56-year-old veteran journalist would be leaving ABC News to join Yahoo News as the company's Global Anchor in early 2014.

"We're very proud of everyone's contributions to making Katie the #1 new syndicated talk show of 2012-2013," Disney and Couric both said in a statement (via THR). "And we look forward to the rest of the season." Couric has been a special correspondent for ABC News since 2011.

Katie will officially end in June 2014, but Couric will quickly transition to her new position at Yahoo. On Nov. 25, Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer announced Couric's new post via Tumblr.

"Today I am incredibly excited to announce that Katie Couric is joining Yahoo as our Global Anchor," Mayer wrote at the time. "Starting in early 2014, Katie will lead a growing team of correspondents at Yahoo News who will cover the world's most interesting stories and newsmakers."
