Selena Gomez told Us Weekly that her fellow former Disney star Miley Cyrus' raunchy performance was "awesome."

Former Disney stars-turned-singers unite! While most fans and celebs alike were left with their jaws hanging over Miley Cyrus' shocking, raunchy performance at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, Aug. 25, Selena Gomez told Us Weekly that she would give Cyrus' number a hearty thumbs up.

"Amazing. I thought it was awesome," she told Us. "I like Robin Thicke too, so I like that they [collaborated]. I thought that was good."

Gomez took home the coveted Best Pop Video award for the night, but the former Disney pop songstress was quick to tell Us that she didn't think she would win against such tough competition.

"I remember actually watching some of my idols get this award so I'm pretty stoked," she told Us in the press room at the Barclays Center. "I didn't think I was going to win, to be honest. I really didn't. I think Robin Thicke should've won."

The 21-year-old singer won the award for her video for summer hit "Come & Get It," in which she belts out sassy refrains in different scenic landscapes, including a mountain range, a giant flower field, and a body of water.

Thicke's much-talked about music video for "Blurred Lines" features the singer, along with pals Pharrell Williams and T.I., dancing with nearly nude models.

Gomez also beat out fellow musical hot shots Bruno Mars (for his retro "Locked Out of Heaven"), Justin Timberlake (for his emotional tribute to his grandparents, "Mirrors"), fun. (for their epic "Carry On"), and Cyrus (for her raunchy, psychedelic "We Can't Stop").

"I genuinely just try to be the best that I can be," she said of what inspires her work, counting her mom as one of her biggest supporters.

Her win was likely bittersweet, as this may be the last VMAs for the Stars Dance singer for a while. In a recent press conference for her latest film, Getaway, she told reporters that she's thinking of setting aside music for a little while to focus on her other pursuits.

"I'm a woman so I change my mind all the time," she said on Wednesday, Aug. 21. "One day I want to do acting and just that, and then other times I just want to do music and just that, so it changes."

"But this is my last record for a while," she continued. "I'm going to tour it and then I'm going to just kind of get into acting for a really long period of time, hopefully."
