Identity thief, indeed! Melissa McCarthy appears on the cover of Elle's annual Women in Hollywood issue, and she looks stylish, sultry, and downright gorgeous — a far departure from her usual TV and movie looks. In fact, the actress gives fellow Hollywood stars Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, and Naomie Harris (each of whom fronts her own Elle November cover) a run for their money in the glamour department.

On McCarthy's cover, the actress sports va-va-voom hair that's swept to the side. Her makeup is flawless, with a focus on long lashes and perfectly arched dark brows. Dazzling diamond Plukka earrings hang from her lobes; a luxurious wool cashmere coat by Marina Rinaldi hugs her body.

Inside the glossy, the Heat actress opened up about the secret to playing comedic leads: "A lot of times, women have had all their tools taken away (in Hollywood comedies). It's like you're never inappropriate, you have the greatest job, you look great, your hair is amazing, and now go be funny. And it's like, with what? You have to fall down for us to want to watch you get back up. And it's like they never let you watch women fall down."

She also talked about her love for fellow funny woman Julia Louis-Dreyfuss. "I watch Julia Louis-Dreyfus on Veep and she is so good, because she is playing the world's biggest a–hole narcissist, and yet you can't take your eyes off of her. In fact, you still strangely like her and almost want to hang with her."
