Meet Miss Golden Globe 2014! Sosie Bacon, the daughter of two of Tinseltown's biggest stars, Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick, was announced on Thursday, Nov. 21 as the next Hollywood heir to carry the torch into awards season.

The 21-year-old actress, who stunned on the red carpet at Hollywood hot spot Fig & Olive, in a black, lacy dress and large diamond earrings, told Us Weekly how her parents inspired her to pursue acting, and how she is preparing for the Golden Globes.

Asked what advice she'd gotten from her famous parents before The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced her as Miss Golden Globe 2014, Bacon replied: "Nothing really — they trust me. They think I'm going to do a good job. I think they're saying, 'It will be fun, don't be too nervous, be yourself.'"

Sedgwick and Bacon's youngest child added that her parents inspired her to pursue a career in acting — though not necessarily through their own films. "I don’t really watch a lot of my parents' movies," she admitted. "When I was little, their movies were so inappropriate. It was all R-rated, so I wasn’t allowed to watch any of them and now it’s gone on that way."

"But generally, [from] what I’ve seen, it’s all inspired me," said Bacon, who starred in a multi-episode arc on her mom's show The Closer back in 2009. "Personal Velocity is a movie that my mom was in that I love, and Mystic River, [which] my dad [starred] in." The Brown University student, who is musically-inclined, also shared with Us that she and her father sing "together all the time. And my mom, too."

In a setting filled with stars like Malin Akerman, Jeremy Piven and James Marsden on Thursday night, the new Miss Golden Globe said the actress she would be most excited to meet is Claire Danes. "I would love to meet her," she enthusiastically told Us.

Ahead of the 2014 awards show, Bacon added: "I’ve been practicing walking in heels like nonstop around my house. Probably not as much as I should, but a good amount." She also intends to continue keeping her figure firm and toned by doing Pilates Plus, which she said is "Pilates kind of on crack. It's like, really hard."

Bacon's Miss Golden Globe predecessors include stars like Melanie Griffith (1975), Laura Dern (1982), Freddie Prinze, Jr. (1996), Dakota Johnson (2006), Rumer Willis (2008), and Francesca Eastwood (2012).
