Jason Aldean's tour bus hit and killed a man early Monday morning Oct. 28 in Knox County, Ind., his rep confirms to Us Weekly. The country crooner was on the bus when the "terrible accident" took place. 

The victim, who was pronounced dead at the accident scene, has been identified as Albert Kennedy, although his age and details have yet to be revealed. He reportedly walked into the bus' path as it was passing outside of Vincennes on U.S. Highway 41.

Aldean posted to his Twitter and WhoSay accounts Monday afternoon in response to the accident. "With a heavy heart, I'm sad to say that a man passed away last night after stepping out in front of my bus in Indiana," he shared with his 1.8 million Twitter followers. "In all the years I've been touring and all the miles we've driven, nothing prepares you for something like this to happen. I'm praying for Albert Kennedy's family and friends today and ask that you do the same."

The "Dirt Road Anthem" singer was scheduled to perform in Dallas Saturday night, but had to cancel his show due to inclement weather. "Sorry we had to cancel Dallas tonite. Not my decision!!!! Was lookin forward to the last nite of the tour. Promise we will be back ASAP," he wrote.

Aldean was announced in early October as a performer at the Nov. 6 Country Music Association Awards in Nashville, Tenn. alongside country superstars Taylor Swift, Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, and Blake Shelton. The awards show also marks another big appearance for Aldean, who will sit down with Robin Roberts for pre-awards show interview for a special in which he will finally discuss his cheating scandal. The network says the megastar will open up to Roberts about "fame, family, and tabloid headlines he says helped end his marriage" in the special 20/20 edition which is set to air Tuesday, Nov. 6.
