Game over!
Adam Sandler may have some video game lovers heading to the movies this summer. The star’s trailer for the video game comedy-meets-disaster movie Pixels was released on Tuesday, Mar. 17, and it’s already garnered more than 5 million clicks in just two days.
The Chris Columbus-directed flick begins decades after NASA sent a time capsule into space in hopes of contacting other life forms. They eventually do — but aliens misinterpret the video feeds of arcade games as a war threat and retaliate by attacking Earth.
Some of the best video game characters to make an appearance? None other than Pac-Man and Donkey Kong.
The action sci-fi project also stars Jane Krakowski, Peter Dinklage, Michelle Monaghan, Ashley Benson, Josh Gad, and Kevin James.
Pixels hits theaters on July 24, 2015.
