Farrah Abraham Argues With Audience Member During Talk Show Interview, Defends Parenting Choices

Wherever Farrah Abraham goes, drama is sure to follow. The Teen Mom alum, 22, filmed an appearance this week for the Monday, Oct. 28, episode of Bethenny Frankel‘s eponymous talk show Bethenny, in which she defended some of the choices she’s made as a young mom to daughter Sophia, 4. Both Frankel and her audience had a lot of tough questions for the controversial reality star turned porn actress — and at least one viewer thought her answers were lacking. She slammed Abraham for waxing Sophia’s eyebrows while she was sleeping, and things got so heated that Frankel had to intervene and play mediator.

“After that whole situation in the media, I actually got a lot of fan mail from girls who were younger, who did have unibrows, and they only wished that their moms would have helped them,” the former Teen Mom star said in defense of the eyebrow incident.

“My head is going to pop off, I swear,” the audience member piped in. “That is crazy. You’re making a little girl believe that without you plucking her eyebrows, she won’t have pretty pictures. She’s 4 — she’s beautiful.”

“It’s not even pictures, and it’s not that I’m telling my daughter she’s not beautiful,” Abraham retorted. “To be honest with you, she was sleeping, so it was like…”

Before she could finish her sentence, the audience member cut her off. “Oh my God. So that makes it better?” she quipped over further protests from the former MTV star. Then, to Frankel, she added, “She’s out of her mind, I’m sorry.”

A reality TV veteran herself, Frankel  stepped in to calm everyone down, telling her viewers that she didn’t want her guests to feel beat up. “Are you okay?” she asked Abraham.

At the host’s request, the Farrah Superstar: Backdoor Teen Mom star also addressed a recent interview she did in which she said Sophia “has her own life and is doing her own thing.” Clarifying that statement, the sometime swimsuit model said, “To a certain extent, though. It’s not like she has her own life, go live your own life.”

“I am very much her mother, and I am very much there to develop her, ground her, take that initiative, but I also feel that…it’s very healthy for my daughter to have her own friends,” she explained. “To have that community around her that she knows is her own person. I don’t ever want my daughter growing up questioning who she is or her choices. I want her to be a strong, happy individual.”

“My daughter knows she is loved,” she added. “My daughter knows she has a mom, and I’m there, and I’m not worried about anything of what everyone else is worried about.”
