Miley Cyrus Goes Topless for Rolling Stone, Talks VMAs: “I’ll Probably Never Do That S–t Again”

Miley Cyrus is laying it all out there — in more ways than one — in the Oct. 10 issue of Rolling Stone. Posing topless on the magazine's cover, the "We Can't Stop" singer, 20, is the very picture of a good girl gone bad.

The risque shot shows Cyrus leaning against the edge of a pool, her arms crossed over her chest to just barely cover her cleavage. Thick black eyeliner is smudged around her eyes, and her blonde hair is slicked back to reveal the buzzed sides. As is her wont lately, she's sticking out her tongue and licking her bare shoulder while shooting a sultry gaze at the camera.

Inside the magazine, the former child star reveals even more of herself — metaphorically speaking, at least. She fearlessly tackles her controversial VMAs performance with Robin Thicke, her friendship with Kanye West (whom she calls her "homie"), her relationship with her parents, Tish and Billy Ray, and her thoughts on what critics are saying about her sexed-up new image.

On the subject of the latter, she tells Rolling Stone: "People are like, 'Miley thinks she's a black girl, but she's got the flattest ass ever.' I'm like, I'm 108 pounds! I know!" Then, referencing her VMAs performance, she adds, "Now people expect me to come out and twerk with my tongue out all the time. I'll probably never do that s–t again."

The Hannah Montana alum also notes that her duet with "Blurred Lines" singer Thicke wasn't necessarily supposed to be hot. "I wasn't trying to be sexy. If I was trying to be sexy, I could have been sexy," the self-proclaimed "semi-nudist" says. "I can dance a lot better than I was dancing."

Elsewhere in the story, the newly single star — she and fiance Liam Hemsworth announced their split earlier this month — opens up about her friendships with other musicians, including Pharrell Williams, Lil Kim, and Justin Bieber, whom she says she wants to "mentor." One celeb with whom she is particularly close these days is rapper West, who paid her a special visit before her VMAs performance.

"He [comes] in and goes, 'There are not a lot of artists I believe in more than you right now.' The whole room went quiet. I was like, 'Yo — can you say that again?!'" she recalls. "I just kept repeating that over and over in my mind, and it made me not nervous."

West, she says, recently bought her five pairs of fur Celine slippers after she happened to mention that the ones she owned were falling apart. "Kanye is the s–t. I kind of have a good relationship with him now," she says. "It's good to have someone you can call and be like, 'Yo, do you think I should wear this?' 'Do you think I should go in the studio with this guy?' 'Do you think this is cool?' That's what homies are supposed to do."
