Kris Humphries Joins The Mindy Project’s “Getting Over It Gang” in Guest Role

It’s not quite reality, but it’ll do. Kris Humphries‘ guest role on an upcoming episode of The Mindy Project is actually closer to real life than fans might have expected.

In an exclusive preview clip of the hit Fox show, Humphries, 28, plays himself as the latest member of the “Getting Over It” gang, which is comprised of Danny (Chris Messina), Tom (Bill Hader), and a few other single guys.

“Just because we don’t have wives doesn’t mean we don’t have lives,” the group chants in a circle during a meeting at the local gym. “Single and cool, single and cool, single and cool, yes!”

During a confessional, Humphries tells fans that he and the other characters “go for walks on the beach, go out to coffee, get pedicures, manicures, just [have] basic spa days” in order to cope with their singleness.

“You’re always nervous where people are really talented and you don’t do this really, but as time went on, just being out there and messing around with the guys…I loosened up a little bit and ended up having a good time,” the athlete said.

Humphries isn’t the first NBA player to appear on Mindy Kaling‘s hit show, however. Amar’e Stoudemire and Danny Granger both made cameos during the show’s first season, and Green Bay Packers outside linebacker Clay Matthews also guest starred on an episode.
