For the first time in forever, Frozen fans are getting a new look at their favorite wintery flick! Disney released the debut trailer for the upcoming short feature Frozen Fever on Wednesday, Feb. 25.
The quick clip opens with an Olaf-assisted countdown. Ice aficionado and reindeer wrangler Kristoff then makes an appearance showing off the setup that he’s put together for his love Princess Anna’s birthday.
“Check this out!” he exclaims to Anna’s sister Princess Elsa, gesturing to rows of tables adorned with cakes, treats, and flowers, and an oversized banner reading, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNA.” Kristoff (Jonathan Groff), Elsa (Idina Menzel), Olaf (Josh Gad), and the reindeer Sven then work together to put the final touches on the Anna-celebrating soirée.
Known for its inescapable movie hits like “Let It Go,” Frozen teases a new song in the trailer for Frozen Fever. As various Arendelle townspeople, Anna, Marshmallow the snowmonster, and Oaken the shop owner are featured, the preview plays bits of a tune that has the cast singing, “Making today a perfect day / making today a perfect day.”
While it’s not a full-fledged Frozen sequel, the cheery short will be shown in movie theaters as a special before Disney’s live-action Cinderella. The fairy tale story will debut with Frozen Fever on March 13.
