It’s showtime! On April 4, Michael Keaton hosted Saturday Night Live. Naturally, the Oscar nominee’s most iconic roles — Batman and Beetlejuice — were immediately brought up in the opening monologue.
As Keaton, 63, was welcoming the crowd, longtime SNL cast members Taran Killam and Bobby Moynihan joined him on stage, gushing about the actor’s most memorable roles.
“We kind of have a favor to ask,” Moynihan admitted, before the pair broke into song.
“Will you play Batman with us Michael Keaton?” they sang in unison. “Come on put the suit, we’ll be the villains that you’ve beaten!”
They also offered up a verse about the beloved ghost Beetlejuice, before showing some footage of Keaton backstage at SNL with a superimposed Batsuit and Beetlejuice’s famous black and white costume.
Keaton played the Caped Crusader in the 1989 film and in 1992’s Batman Returns. He brought Beetlejuice to life in 1988.
