Mad Men Thieves: What Did Jon Hamm, Elisabeth Moss, and Co. Take from Set Following the Finale?

Mad Men
Mad Men's stars weren't ready to let go when it came time to strike the sets after filming the finale: the cast revealed what they stole as mementos to remind them of their eight years on the AMC hit.

It’s the end of an era! Mad Men premieres the second half of its final season on Sunday (April 5), but the actors weren’t ready to let go when it came time to strike the sets after filming the finale. Kiernan Shipka, Elisabeth Moss, and Christina Hendricks all snagged mementos to remind them of the eight years they spent starring on the AMC hit.

The decade-spanning period drama debuted in 2007, and followed a group of New York advertising executives and their families throughout the 1960s. Season 1 began in 1960, and the subsequent seasons took their stories through 1969 (where we left off after the first batch of season 7 episodes).

The set decoration was as authentically ’60s as possible thanks to notoriously detail-oriented creator Matthew Weiner, and the many of the cast members managed to snag some of their characters’ accessories as they said goodbye.

Don Draper himself, however, opted not to take anything. Read on to find out what the cast members brought home after filming wrapped, including Vincent Kartheiser‘s very Pete Campbell-esque response.

Jon Hamm (Don Draper)

“I took nothing but memories, and they were delightful, at that. Most of it was rented, so if I would have taken it, I would literally be stealing.”

Elisabeth Moss
Elisabeth Moss took home Peggy Olson’s red thermos as a Mad Men memento.

“I just went home like I always do, empty-handed.”

Christina Hendricks (Joan Harris)

“I took things from Joan’s apartment — a serving tray, a picture, glasses. Now they’re in my home, and it makes me smile every time I see them.”
