Sign Us up! The first trailer for the next Nancy Meyers movie is here, and with Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro on board, it is sure to be a hit.
Meyers, who is known for addictive romantic comedies like The Holiday, Something’s Gotta Give, and It’s Complicated, recruited the two Oscar winners for her sweet story about a high-powered CEO Jules Ostin (Hathaway), who finds an unlikely friend in her 70-year-old intern Ben Whittaker (De Niro).
The first preview for the flick, which arrived on Wednesday, May 13, opens with Ben interviewing for the internship position at the modern company with a manager decades his junior (Nat Wolff). Girls star Andrew Rannells makes an appearance as Jules’ assistant, explaining to his boss, “Remember a few weeks ago we talked about the seniors internship program?” When she responds, “Seniors in high school or seniors in college?” he informs her that the program is for “seniors in life.”
Ben is shown hitting his groove at the company, making friends with coworkers young enough to be his grandchildren, and imparting his years of wisdom on his younger cohorts. Staying late at the office to get ahead, he ends up making a connection with the CEO, finding common ground with the impressive woman.
Also starring Adam DeVine, Rene Russo, Anders Holm, and Reid Scott, among others, The Intern is scheduled to hit theaters on Sept. 25. The feel-good flick is the only movie on Hathaway’s schedule for 2015, after a busy 2014 with appearances in four movies including the talked-about Interstellar.
