Blake Lively talks her magical childhood with O Magazine

So magical! New mom Blake Lively grew up believing in quite the fairy tale. The Age of Adaline actress, who welcomed her first child this past December with husband Ryan Reynolds, told Oprah’s O Magazine that while growing up her mother made sure to fill her imagination.

“My mom liked to infuse my life with a lot of magic,” the 27-year-old said when asked about her favorite childhood memory. “When she read my fortune cookies, the predictions were full of princesses and castles and jewels and pirates. When I got old enough to read them, I was shocked to find out how boring they really were!”O Magazine April Cover

Now that she’s a mom herself, the Gossip Girl alum is busy tending to her mini-me, but during her downtime, she admits she’s learning all sorts of new things.

“Creating something I can use [is the best stress reliever],” she told the mag. “I’ll knit or cook — or work on a motorcycle, a skill my husband is teaching me. One of my latest projects was painting nature-inspired throw pillows.”

And the Preserve site creator is no newbie when it comes to the kitchen, either. Citing a “hot fudge sundae” as her go-to best quick recipe, Lively shares: “But forget the fake syrupy stuff; Melt down a bar of chocolate, mix it into some warmed up whipping cream, and put it on top of ice cream. Add some sprinkles, and you’ve got a delicious treat.”
