Nate and Jeremiah's new dad bliss! Designer Nate Berkus and his husband Jeremiah Brent welcomed their daughter, Poppy, on March 25, and in the time since, the new dads have been over the moon with parental joy. "It's made me realize that everything I work for and everything that I do is really for her," Oprah Winfrey's interior design guru told Us Weekly at the Wednesday, June 3 Up2Us Gala in New York City.
"It doesn't feel burdensome; it feels very natural," Berkus, 43, continued of fatherhood with Rachel Zoe's former assistant Brent, 29.
Berkus, who's posted a handful of adorable Instagram photos since he and Brent welcomed Poppy via surrogate, plans to give his daughter her big close-up when the couple debuts her nursery in the October issue of Architectural Digest.
"She loves monkey sounds," proud dad Berkus told Us of his little girl's milestones. "Pooping and eating – that's all she's doing. We're so completely in love with her."
Berkus and Brent, who announced they were expecting in September 2014, were married at New York City's famed public library in May 2014 during a ceremony officiated by the Oprah Winfrey Network's Sheri Salata. Berkus' mentor, Winfrey, singer Estelle, and Dr. Mehmet Oz attended the nuptials.
