Jon Stewart unpicks the media handling of Caitlyn Jenner's arrival into the world

Jon Stewart took a look at the coverage of Caitlyn Jenner's grand unveiling during Tuesday, June 2's Daily Show — and concluded that, now that she's a woman, the world only cares about her looks.

Stewart appeared, at least initially, to be impressed with how the globe's media had handled the situation. But as his dialogue continued, the show host pointed out that in becoming a woman, Caitlyn (formerly Bruce) Jenner, had apparently given up her right to be anything other than eye candy.

"It's really heartening to see that everyone is willing to not only accept Caitlyn Jenner as a woman, but to waste no time in treating her like a woman," Stewart said in his typically wry fashion.

As TV clips then ran showing an overwhelming focus on what she looks like, Stewart congratulated the 65-year-old on her transition.

"You see, Caitlyn, when you were a man we could talk about your athleticism, your business acumen,” he said. “Now you’re a woman, and your looks are the only thing we care about. Which brings us to phase two of your transition: your 'comparative f-ckability,'" he went on.

As commentators and news broadcasters speculated on whether Jenner was now better looking than Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashianor Jessica Lang, Stewart made another observation.

"Look we want to give a woman a compliment here," he told the audience. "We just want to make sure another woman gets taken down a peg or two, it's how we maintain the balance."

Then came the final stab in the back for all females: the question of age.

"She looks good, especially for her age," says one broadcaster.

"Wow, remind her she has an expiration date now!" said Stewart. "You came out at 65, you've got another two years since you become invisible to society," he added. "Better make the most of it."

At the end of the segment, Stewart summed up his thoughts: "Caitlyn Jenner, congratulations. Welcome to being a woman in America."
