Holly Madison: Hugh Hefner Wrote Me “Creepy” and “Reprimanding” Letters After I Left Him

Holly Madison revealed exclusively to Us Weekly that Hugh Hefner wrote her "reprimanding" and "creepy" letters after she left him and the Playboy Mansion behind

Holly Madison hasn't had contact with Hugh Hefner in four years — well, in person. The Girls Next Door alum told Us Weekly exclusively that Hefner used to send her uncalled-for letters long after she left him and the Playboy Mansion behind.

"They were all very formal, short letters, and it would usually be in response to something I said in the press," Madison, 35, explained. "At the time I had a TV show [Holly's World] on, so I was doing all kinds of random interviews and they’d ask me my opinion on the new Girls Next Door or who he was dating. If I said anything that was slightly not to his liking he’d send me some reprimanding type of letter."

She continued: "And it just got to the point where I’d throw them away and not even look at them. There was a very creepy vibe to them. I felt like he was trying to act like he was my dad and like control every move that I made."

Madison, now married to Pasquale Rotella and mom to 2-year-old daughter Rainbow, turned in her bunny ears and left the Club-Night Wednesdays and Movie-Night Saturdays hoopla behind in late 2008. As previously reported, Hefner allegedly offered her millions of dollars to stay at the time.

"I found this folder on my side of the bed when I said I was leaving and going in to pack up the stuff, and it was clear he’d left it out for me to see and it seemed like a desperate ploy," Madison told Us. She added of the house: "It was definitely worse than middle school because in middle school you get to go home at the end of the day!"

Madison's departure didn't sit well with Hefner, but neither has her latest claims. The exes have disagreed in typical "she said, he said" fashion about what really went down in the past, with Hefner, 89, even slamming Madison's new juicy memoir, Down the Rabbit Hole: Curious Adventures and Cautionary Tales of a Former Playboy Bunny.

"Over the course of my life I’ve had more than my fair share of romantic relationships with wonderful women," Hefner exclusively told Us in a statement on June 21. "Many moved on to live happy, healthy, and productive lives, and I’m pleased to say remain dear friends today. Sadly, there are a few who have chosen to rewrite history in an attempt to stay in the spotlight. I guess, as the old saying goes: You can’t win 'em all!"

Word is still out on whether another letter is on the way.
