Robin Williams‘ talent is truly the gift that keeps on giving, even 10 months after his tragic death. Before he died last August, the late Mrs. Doubtfire star filmed two movies set for release this summer, including the drama Boulevard, which got its first trailer on Thursday, June 18.
The Dito Montiel-directed film, costarring Bob Odenkirk and Kathy Baker, features Williams’ final on-screen performance — and from the looks of the trailer, it’s a doozy. (His role in the other as-yet-unreleased movie, Absolutely Anything, was a voice-acting gig.)
According to Variety, Boulevard stars Williams as a 60-year-old married man who’s “in denial about his sexuality until he befriends a young gay street hustler,” played by relative newcomer Roberto Aguire. A tagline reads, “If life is moving in the wrong direction, there’s always time to make a U-turn.”
The trailer for the film showcases Williams’ dramatic side, which he used to great effect in movies like Dead Poets Society, Awakenings, and Good Will Hunting. His performance in the latter earned him an Oscar for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in 1998.
Following its premiere last year at the Tribeca Film Festival, Boulevard will be released by Starz on July 17. Watch the trailer above.
