Vicki Gunvalson: I Had Nothing to Do With Brooks Ayers’ Fake Cancer Documents

This Housewife is innocent! Vicki Gunvalson insisted on Friday, Nov. 13, that she had nothing to do with her ex-boyfriend Brooks Ayers‘ fake cancer treatment documents from City of Hope hospital that he confessed to fabricating this week.

In fact, Gunvalson, 53 — who’s been accused by some of her fellow Orange County Housewives of knowing about Ayers’ lies — said she was the victim of her ex-boyfriend’s deceitful ways. “It’s not about ME or believing me – this is on him,” she tweeted on Friday. “I have nothing to [with] what he has pulled regarding med records and his health.”

The veteran Bravo star also tweeted that she trusted Ayers during their relationship — because she was in love. “Yes I know … Nothing was intentional on my end,” Gunvalson wrote. “I believed a man I loved. Who hasn’t?”

She continued: “I witnessed him sick, losing weight, vomiting after treatments. He admitted to fake docs. I don’t understand.”

That love, however, has turned to hatred. In a no-holds-barred interview with Extra on Wednesday, Nov. 11, Gunvalson railed against her ex for lying and deceiving her throughout their four-year relationship.

“I hate him, I hate him with everything in me, and I don’t hate people,” Gunvalson said of Ayers, from whom she split in August. “But I believed him, I trusted him, I defended him, took a bullet for him when people didn’t like him.”

Like others, she was surprised when Ayers came clean about fabricating the papers. “I’m completely shocked. I’ve seen the bills, I went to City of Hope,” Gunvalson told Mario Lopez, recalling how she waited at the hospital on one occasion for hours as he allegedly got chemo. “He was there all morning, so how do you think anything other than he’s getting chemo? You go to City of Hope because you have cancer, not because you have nothing else to do during the day.”

The turning point was when she realized that two and two didn’t add up. “I’m guilty of loving him and believing him. Who hasn’t believed someone that you loved?” she asked. “And why would you lie about cancer when I’ve had three friends die of it in the last two years? I had my dearest friend just die of stomach cancer.”

Vicki Gunvalson and Brooks Ayers

The star, whose relationship with her fellow OC Housewives is far from mended, apologized to the cast, including Shannon Beador, Tamra Judge, and newbie Meghan King Edmonds, who was first to raise questions about Ayers’ cancer claims. “My life is so abundant, I didn’t need to make a fake story line, and I sure as hell wouldn’t make it up about Brooks,” Gunvalson noted. “As God is my witness, I would never want to make something up like this; it’s actually quite sick. I’m embarrassed . . . I want to tell the girls I’m sorry.”
