Uncharted territory. The Kardashian/Jenner family is adjusting to life with Caitlyn Jenner, who transition from a male to a female earlier this year in a very public manner — first with the historic Diane Sawyer interview and then with a stunning Vanity Fair cover.
That makes this Father’s Day bittersweet for the family, who said goodbye to Bruce Jenner, but not without his promise that he would always be “Dad” to his children.
On Sunday, June 21, Kendall Jenner took to Instagram to honor that sentiment in a touching throwback photo of her being kissed on the cheek as a child by her father.
“my whole life this soul was my daddy and just because your appearance is different now doesn’t mean you were any less of a father to me my entire life,” the supermodel wrote. “happy Father’s Day to the person who raised me, and taught me everything I know, my hero.”
Kendall, 19, wasn’t the only family member to reach out on social media for the holiday. Her older half-sister Khloe Kardashian also shared a picture of Bruce with the late Robert Kardashian via Instagram, writing, “Thank you Lord for blessing me with not one phenomenal father but I was lucky enough to have two. Happy Father’s Day!!!”
Kylie Jenner also took to Instagram to honor her dad, sharing a throwback picture with sister Kendall and mom Kris Jenner with the caption, “Happy Father’s Day my little light of sunshine. ‘You can still call me dad, Kylie. No matter what I’m always going to be your father. That’s never going to change.'”
