Josh Duggar and his wife, Anna Duggar, broke their social media silence on Tuesday, June 16, after keeping quiet in the weeks since Josh’s molestation scandal broke. The two reality stars decided to post for the first time in June in honor of their son’s birthday.
Josh, 27, shared a cute photo of the couple’s middle child Michael, which shows the grinning little boy with a text overlay reading, “HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY MICHAEL JAMES!”
Josh shared the same photo on Twitter, and captioned the shot, “Happy 4th Birthday Michael James! #Big4 #HappyBirthday #Michael.”
Josh’s wife of nearly seven years, Anna, also posted on Instagram for the first time since May 18 — the same week that the news of Josh molesting five young girls when he was a teenager broke. The mother of three shared a sweet black-and-white video of Michael blowing out candles on a plate of cupcakes with his relatives around him.
“So glad to be in Arkansas celebrating Michael’s 4th birthday — we love you Mikey!” Anna wrote.
The birthday boy is presumably spending time with his grandparents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar in their home state of Arkansas, after moving trucks were spotted outside of Josh and Anna’s Maryland home. Michael’s aunts and uncles have slowly returned to social media in recent days, as Jill Duggar has been posting photos of her husband Derick Dillard and the couple’s baby Israel, while Jessa Duggar has been giving updates on her pregnancy with her first child.
The official Duggar family Facebook page also sent Michael birthday wishes on Tuesday, sharing four photos of the boy with his relatives. “This boy is 4 years old today!” the post reads. “He is clever and he is kind. There was a time we could not imagine anything as amazing than being parents. Now, we are grandparents too and we absolutely love everything about it! Happy, happy birthday Michael! Grandma and Grandpa Duggar love you so much!”
