Already Instafamous! After joining Instagram earlier this week, Hillary Clinton quickly built up 120,000 followers and continued her spree on the site in a big way on Thursday, June 11.
The presidential hopeful, 67, took it way back for the fourth photo to be posted on her account, sharing a vintage black-and-white shot from her childhood. Clinton participated in her first Throwback Thursday with the image of herself as an adorable little girl riding a bike.
“Pedal to the metal. #tbt,” the former Secretary of State wrote.
Later on Thursday, Clinton offered supporters a look at further photos from her archives in a teaser for a new campaign video. The clip includes cute pictures of the politician as a tiny toddler and funny family shots with her husband, former President Bill Clinton, and daughter, Chelsea Clinton.
In one image, a young Bill and Hillary hold their infant daughter Chelsea, now 35, in their arms, while in another, the three Clintons pose with Donald Duck on the Disney character’s birthday, all sporting duck hats. Over audio about Clinton’s values, she is shown with her late mother, Dorothy Rodham, as a young couple with President Clinton, and in her capacity as First Lady, Senator of New York, and Secretary of State.
Courting young voters, Clinton posted her first Instagram shot on Wednesday, June 10. Famous for her colorful array of pantsuits, the former First Lady poked fun at herself by taking a photo of a garment rack hung with three red pantsuits, three white pantsuits, and three blue pantsuits, captioning the image, “Hard choices.”
Clinton’s social media push precedes her upcoming campaign event in New York City on Saturday, June 13. The Democrat will address voters in a launch rally on Roosevelt Island, continuing her push to beat out Lincoln Chafee, Martin O’Malley, and Bernie Sanders for the Democratic nomination.
