Johnny Depp’s new role is huuuge! The character actor, 52, donned an orange toupee and applied some thick makeup to play a younger Donald Trump in the new 50-minute Funny or Die sketch, Donald Trump’s the Art of the Deal: The Movie.
The new clip was filmed like an ‘80s movie version of the Republican presidential hopeful’s bestselling book, The Art of the Deal. In the video, Depp is entirely unrecognizable as the billionaire mogul.
While he uses some of Trump’s signature phrases, including “it’s gonna be huuuge,” and calls his enemies “losers” and “fat slobs,” Depp also improvises some funny moments.
In one scene, he looks at himself in a bathroom mirror, reflecting on how much he wanted the Taj Mahal casino.
“That was very emotional. I was very vulnerable. I think that was an Oscar moment,” he declares to himself.
The clip also gives nods to some of Trump’s more outrageous comments from the campaign trail. In one scene he says, “I had always wanted to do two things on Fifth Avenue — shoot someone in the middle of the street and then watch them die, and buy a skyscraper.”
In addition to Depp, actors and film buffs Ron Howard, Alfred Molina, Patton Oswalt, Henry Winkler, Stephen Merchant, Christopher Lloyd, Andy Richter, Paul Scheer, Room star Jacob Tremblay and more appear in the sketch.
In real life, Trump, 69, won the New Hampshire primary on Tuesday, February 9, after losing the Iowa caucus.
