A mini-me! Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross are going to have a daughter. Jessica Simpson’s younger sister is pregnant with a baby girl, her rep confirms to Us Weekly.
“I like to know — I want to do the nursery,” Simpson, who found out she was expecting on Thanksgiving, told reporters of her decision to learn the sex. “I’m just excited for the new addition.”
Simpson’s mini-me will join her 6-year-old son Bronx, whom she shares with ex-husband Pete Wentz, and he couldn’t be more excited to be a big brother.
“I told him pretty early on,” Simpson says of breaking the news to Bronx. “He wanted to have a sister, so he’s really excited! He’s got a little brother. Now he’s going to have a little sister!” Bronx is already big brother to Saint Laszlo, Wentz’s 5-month-old son with girlfriend Meagan Camper.
The exciting news comes just five months after Simpson and Ross tied the knot at Ross’ famed mother Diana Ross’ estate in Greenwich, Conn.
During her second pregnancy, a source tells Us that Simpson hasn’t held back on her pregnancy cravings. The songstress and her Hunger Games hubby were spotted having a “cozy” meal at Serafina Always in New York City on Wednesday, Feb. 4. “Ashlee ate for two,” the insider tells Us of the expectant star, adding she noshed on everything from pizza, pasta, salad, fish, and bread.
“They were very happy and cuddly,” the eyewitness adds of the couple. “They kissed sweetly and Ross had his arm around her for part of their meal.”
Simpson and Ross got engaged in January 2014 after dating for almost a year. Simpson was previously married to Wentz until February 2011.
