“Since I'm on wifi today…I wanna say happy birthday to the most amazing man in the whole world, my hubby! 🎊🛍🎁🎂🍦🎈I love you more than you know @derickdillard You are so caring and thoughtful and an amazing dad! Thank you for the late night talks, a shoulder to cry on, painting my nails, and helping with the little things like late night diaper changes, dishes and laundry at just the right times! I love watching Israel's face light up when he sees you and watching the way you interact with him. 👶🏼He loves playing fútbol with his papa! ⚽️ You're my knight in shining armor and the ❤️ of my life! I'm blessed beyond measure! 😘 I love you and Israel does too! I pray every year you'll be closer to Jesus than the year before!” the reality star shared, adding the hashtags, “#HappyBirthday #lovemyhubby #celebrateonedayearly #honeymoonpic.”

Jill and Derick and their son, Israel, 23 months, have been on a long-term mission trip in Central America since July 2015. Jim Bob and Michalle Duggar’s daughter and son-in-law update fans on their journey via Instagram and their blog, the Dillard Family.

“The wildlife here is quite different than back home in Arkansas,” Derick shared in their most recent post from February. “We weren’t used to seeing scorpions, tarantulas and cougars back home but we’ve seen them all and the first two multiple times! Jill opened her makeup bag to find a tarantula on top of her toothbrush. One afternoon, while we were getting ready to leave our house, Jill heard the neighbors’ chickens making noise and looked over to see a gray cougar making its way from their place. We later heard it is common for people to lose their chickens to the ‘gatos montañas.’ One friend even said that a wild cat had killed all 33 of her chickens! Two of our friends have attested to seeing giant snakes in their yards and one of them described the snake in her backyard as about 25 feet long in the act of killing a chicken. She said it took 6 guys with machetes to kill that snake. Please keep praying for physical safety as well as spiritual protection!”

The couple’s son also seems to be enjoying his new surroundings.

“Israel loves the hammock. Thank you for your prayers and support. ¡Dios es bueno! (God is good!),” Jill captioned a cute Instagram video of her son asleep in the handmade contraption on February 19.
