Chris Brown Gets Emotional Talking Rihanna Assault in Docu Trailer: ‘I Felt Like a Monster’

Putting it all out there. Chris Brown is opening up about all aspects of his life in his new documentary, Welcome to My Life. And in a sneak peek of what fans can expect in the show, Brown opened up about his assault of Rihanna

The 26-year-old star got emotional as he talked about the incident, which took place before the 2009 Grammy Awards. And talking candidly about instantly going from “America’s sweetheart to public enemy No. 1,” the singer revealed he even contemplated ending his life.

“I felt like a f–king monster,” he admitted in the trailer. “I was thinking about suicide and everything else. I wasn’t sleeping, I wasn’t eating. I just was getting high.”

“That was the worst day of my life and probably his life,” Brown’s mom, Joyce Hawkins, added. “I felt like I was going to lose my child.”

In addition to addressing his past with Rihanna, Brown’s talent and sudden rise to fame is also documented in the nearly three-minute clip.

Stars such as Usher and Jennifer Lopez are shown waxing lyrical about the musician’s abilities and his potential to change the music scene forever.

Despite Brown’s fall from grace, the R&B superstar is hopeful his star will rise again.

“If there was ever a doubt in your mind that Chris Brown was done, he was finished? I wouldn’t bet on it,” Brown says as the trailer draws to a close. No official documentary release date has been given.
