Iggy Azalea’s Fiance Nick Young Breaks Silence on Leaked Cheating Video: ‘It’s Best Me and D’Angelo Handle Our Situation’

This is true March Madness. NBA player Nick Young broke his silence on Wednesday, March 30, about the leaked video in which he allegedly admits to cheating on his fiancée, Iggy Azalea, during a phone conversation with his teammate D’Angelo Russell.

Though “Swaggy P” Young, 30, said nothing about the state of his engagement to the rapper, the Los Angeles Lakers player addressed his relationship with Russell, who recorded the private conversation several months ago. Click here to see Iggy’s massive engagement ring.

Los Angeles Lakers forward Nick Young speaks to the media prior to the team’s NBA basketball game against the Miami Heat, Wednesday, March 30, 2016, in Los Angeles.

“I think it’s best me and D’Angelo handle our situation in a private manner,” Young told reporters on Wednesday. “It’s something we need to talk about. What happened is what happened. We’ve got to work on it.” ESPN reported that the Lakers’ locker room atmosphere is currently icy and that many of Russell’s teammates are furious with him for recording the conversation. “It’s bad,” one insider told ESPN. “It’s about as bad as it can get. There were trust issues already. Now there’s no trust.”

How the video was obtained and leaked remains a mystery. In it, rookie point guard Russell asks Young about his alleged conquests, and says at one point, “You was 30, she was 19?” Azalea, meanwhile, took to Twitter on Wednesday, March 30, to react to the hoopla and thank Russell for the video. “Hmmm i see D Angelo Russell is trending… I actually liked his film,” the Aussie native wrote. “Thanks bro.”

Russell, however, told The Vertical on Wednesday that he was “sick” about the situation. “I am sorry about recording the video. I can’t repeat myself enough on that: I am sorry I recorded that video. I feel horrible. I wish this never happened,” he said. “The thing is, we record ourselves doing dumb stuff all the time. On the road or home, wherever. We go back and watch what we did and said and laugh at ourselves. I guess I just never thought that these pranks we pull on ourselves could have bigger consequences. That was a big lesson I learned.”

Russell was also asked whether he thought he put his teammate’s engagement to Azalea in jeopardy. “Honestly, I do.”
