Gentlemen, listen up! Not only did DJ Ruckus offer his girlfriend, Shanina Shaik, two Lorraine Schwartz diamond rings to choose from, but the cousin of Lenny Kravitz also enlisted the help of some A-list stars for his romantic proposal on December 26.
The musician and his supermodel love were vacationing on Kravitz’s private beach in the Bahamas when he popped the question. After some counsel from his famous cousin, Ruckus picked out two custom Lorraine Schwartz rings for Shaik. She chose the one featuring a large gold hexagon-cut diamond with their initials engraved in the band, and diamonds and amethyst (her birthstone) under the ring.
Not only did Ruckus have a romantic backdrop, but the rings were personally hand-delivered by family friend Denzel Washington and his wife, Pauletta. After Shaik said yes, the newly engaged pair joined their family and friends, including her mom, Kim Shaik, his cousins Lenny and Zoe Kravitz, and Zoe’s boyfriend, Twin Shadow, on the island.
To win over his future mother-in-law, Ruckus set up a FaceTime with her favorite actor and his friend Tyrese, who broke the news of the couple’s engagement to the mother of the bride. The couple also FaceTimed with Ruckus’ mentor Rev Run.
Following the proposal, the pair flew to Dubai for New Year’s Eve, where Ruckus deejayed at Jean-Georges at the Four Seasons Resort.
