Kristen Stewart on Her Sexuality: “Google Me, I’m Not Hiding”

Kristen Stewart spoke about her sexuality in the latest issue of Nylon

Kristen Stewart is breaking her silence. After widespread speculation and chatter, the American Ultra actress, 25, finally touched on her sexuality in a new cover story interview with Nylon magazine for the September issue.

Stewart's sexuality has been a subject of fan interest in the months since she started up a rumored relationship with visual effects producer Alicia Cargile. The Twilight alum, who famously split from ex-boyfriend Robert Pattinson in 2012, has yet to publicly confirm that she's dating Cargile, but told Nylon she's making no attempts to deny it, either.

"Google me, I’m not hiding," she said on the matter of her sexual preferences. "I think in three or four years, there are going to be a whole lot more people who don’t think it's necessary to figure out if you’re gay or straight. It’s like, just do your thing."

Never one to conform, the former child actress went on to expand on how she views herself in a society obsessed with labels and definitions.

"If you feel like you really want to define yourself, and you have the ability to articulate those parameters and that in itself defines you, then do it," she told Nylon. "But I am an actress, man. I live in the f–king ambiguity of this life and I love it. I don't feel like it would be true for me to be like, 'I'm coming out!' No, I do a job. Until I decide that I'm starting a foundation or that I have some perspective or opinion that other people should be receiving… I don't. I’m just a kid making movies."

The Los Angeles native was indeed a kid when she started acting. Stewart made her first big-screen appearances in the early 2000s when she was just 10 years old, including her spooky turn in 2002's Panic Room. She continued her film career throughout her teens before landing the famed role of Bella Swan in 2008's original Twilight movie opposite Pattinson, whom she dated for four years.

She previously touched on the heady time she spent as the female lead in the vampire franchise in an interview with the August issue of Marie Claire

"Speaking very candidly, [the Twilight years were] a really traumatic period in my early twenties that kick-started something in me that was a bit more . . . feral," she said at the time. "I'm really proud that I am able to move forward and not fall into every mental crater. That's a new thing for me. Age has made me smarter and calmer. And it is f–king awesome."
